Philadelphia magazine and the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists have partnered to offer two fellowships. Recipients will serve a 10-week fellowship (June-August) in Philadelphia magazine’s editorial department, getting hands-on experience with fact-checking, reporting and writing. Fellows will work 29.5 hours per week and be paid a total stipend of $4,000.
The fellowship is open to enrolled rising college juniors and seniors and those who have graduated from college within one year of the start of the fellowship; preference will be given to candidates who live in or intend to pursue journalism careers in the Greater Philadelphia region. Eligible candidates must meet at least one of two criteria: 1) be part of a group under-represented in the journalism profession, or 2) have overcome significant obstacles.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on April 22, 2019.
