The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is looking for students, ages 15 – 19, who are passionate about conservation and enjoy being outdoors.

The SCA has community crews, in addition to their national and regional crews, that allow students to make a difference in their own backyard. Crew members commute to local parks or other work sites each day to build trails, conserve habitats and more

Students will also explore green jobs and career opportunities available in their region.

There are SCA programs located in a variety of cities including Chicago, New York, and Washington DC. They are located in more cities but did not seem to be offering the community program this summer.

The New York program will pay students $525 a week, supply a Metrocard, as well as a uniform and boots. The program runs from July 6 – August 14, 2020 – students will work Monday – Friday from 8 am – 3:30 pm. They will also have the opportunity to participate in two nights, three days all-expenses-paid recreation trip.

Deadline to apply is May 1, 2020.
