Scholarship Available for Upperclassmen at HBCUs

It can be challenging trying to fund four years of college. To help out, The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), McDonald’s, and Roland Martin joined together to offer a $15,000 scholarship for rising juniors and seniors enrolled at HBCUs.

To be eligible, students should:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be enrolled as a junior or senior at a TMCF member institution and private HBCUs in Fall 2022
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher
  • Submit a brief essay on how they demonstrate Black excellence and leadership within their campus community
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

To apply, students will need to tape a video response to the following questions:

  • How do you demonstrate Black excellence and leadership within your campus community?

Deadline to apply is February 28, 2022, 12:00 pm EST.
