High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan’s Math and Science Scholars program. The summer program has three sessions:
Session 1: June 28 – July 10, 2020
Session 2: July 12 – July 24, 2020
Session 3: July 26 – August 7, 2020
The residential and commuter program is designed to introduce high school students to current developments and research in the sciences and to encourage the next generation of researchers to develop and retain a love of mathematics and science.
Students will be able to choose from courses such as Brain and Behavior, Data Science Happiness, Forensic Physics, and more. They will also have the option to attend organized weekend events.
Tuition is $1,300 plus $850 for room and board. Financial aid is available. Residents of Michigan can also apply for the Watson A. Young Scholarship. It offers funding to deserving high school students who have a financial need.
Students who apply for financial aid will be notified of award decisions in early April. They encourage those interested in aid to apply as early as possible.
