Girls between the ages of 15 – 17 can have the amazing opportunity to travel to Switzerland through Girls On Ice.
The tuition-free programs are led by professional women scientists, artists, and wilderness guides. During the expeditions, the team engages in scientific and artistic inquiry about the environment around them. In small groups, participants design and conduct scientific projects, which they present to the public on the last full day of their expeditions.
For the Switzerland expedition, applicants will need to be fluent in either German or French in order to apply.
There are two sessions. Girls on Ice Schweiz will take place July 10 – 20, 2020, and all participants must be fluent in the German language (at least a level B2, preferably C1 or higher). Girls on Ice Suisse will take place July 20-20, 2020, and all participants must be fluent in the French language (at least a level B2, preferably C1 or higher).
From their site:
We do not necessarily seek applicants who are top athletes, have the best grades, or participate in the most extracurricular activities. We are looking for participants who have a genuine interest in science, art, critical thinking and the outdoors.
Although girls living near Switzerland are given priority, all are encouraged to apply. Deadline to start application is March 24, 2020.
