Update: The deadline to apply has been extended to May 31, 2020. Remote positions at publishers and agencies are permitted.
Internships are amazing opportunities to gain contacts and experience in your chosen profession. Unfortunately, not every student can afford to take an internship. They may need more hours or higher wages in order to make ends meet. Publishing is notoriously homogenous and in an effort to make it more diverse, We Need Diverse Books is offering a $3,000 supplemental grant for students who have a paid internship offer from a partner publisher or literary agency with a focus on children’s publishing.
In order to be eligible for the Internship Grant, students must identify as coming from a diverse background as noted in the WNDB Definition of Diversity. They will be awarding a minimum of 20 grants in 2020. Go here to apply.
