Inner-City Arts has a wonderful program, Work of Art, which allows Los Angeles high school sophomores and juniors to explore and prepare for college and careers in the arts and creative economy.
Students will participate in mandatory bi-monthly meetings and workshops, study for free in their Institutes program, and become employees of Inner-City Arts. The summer employment runs from June 22 – July 31, 2020. They will also be able to participate in college fairs, SAT prep, resume workshops, and more.
Successful participants will be offered real-world employment experiences with partners in the creative economy.
The student’s participation in the program Work for Art lasts until they graduate from high school. Some graduates continue on in their social enterprise, being paid to work on creative projects for clients.
The deadline to apply is April 4, 2020, with interviews being held from April 6 – April 17 for top tier candidates.
