In light of the recent events with the continued killing of unarmed black men, and the protests it has sparked, it seems this country has reached a breaking point.
DoSomething.org is offering a $1,000 to students who start a conversation with friends and family about how to actively be anti-racist and disrupt racism in their communities (or practice self-care if they identify as Black). DoSomething has a step-by-step guide to help if students need help in getting started.
Students will also have the chance to win a $1,000 to donate to a DoSomething-approved Black-led organization of their choosing.
After the conversation, students will need to upload a photo of themselves and the person they talked to holding up a pledge card committing to fight for racial justice.
Deadline to apply June 15, 2020.
