COVID-19 has upended many a summer plan this year. For college students looking to intern this summer, there are plenty of opportunities available. The 2020 Arts Internship positions are open to currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who live or attend college in Los Angeles County. Interns will be paid $15/hr with a flexible schedule that can range from a minimum of 15 hours a week to a maximum of 40 hours a week. The total maximum hours are 400 for the program.
Open positions within LA County arts organizations include visual arts program intern, oral history projects collections intern, arts education, and more. Some internships will be 100% remote.
Students apply directly to each organization(s) they are interested in. When applying, students should submit a detailed cover letter outlining why they are qualified for the position along with a resumé that includes education, work experience and extracurricular activities. Some organizations may request additional information such as writing samples, references and/or letters of recommendation.
The positions were posted on July 15, 2020, and fill up quickly. They recommend students apply as soon as possible.
